OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Youk's Kids Reading Group Essay Contest (the "Contest") is open to all children up to the age of 15 who are legal residents of the United States. The Contest is designed to encourage, promote and foster the important values of reading, literacy and charity. Employees and their immediate families and household members (whether or not related) of New England Mobile Book Fair, Inc. (the "Sponsor") are not eligible to participate in the Contest. All entrants must have the permission of at least one (1) of their parents and/or legal guardians to enter. By entering the Contest, entrants and their parents and/or legal guardians (as the case may be) agree to accept and be bound by all terms of these Official Rules and Regulations. 2. HOW TO ENTER. To be eligible, all entrants must provide the following documents via drop-off at the New England Mobile Book Fair® or Mail (New England Mobile Book Fair®, 82-84 Needham Street, Newton Highlands, MA 02461, Attn: "Youk's Kids Reading Group Essay Contest") only: (i) the completed Official Entry Form (including the signed permission from the entrant's parent or legal guardian), which includes a pledge to read four (4) books of the entrant's choosing; and an essay of no more than two hundred (200) words in length (the "Essay"), which addresses the topics: a) why the entrant loves to read/why reading is important, b) the entrant's favorite books, c) why charity is important and/or d) why the entrant would like to meet Kevin Youkilis. All essays submitted become the property of Sponsor, will not be returned and may be used by Sponsor in whole or part in any manner or media without compensation. 3. PRIZES. Each month, one (1) winning entrant in several age categories will be chosen to receive a baseball autographed by Kevin Youkilis. At or about the end of the Major League Baseball season, one (1) winning entrant in several age categories will be chosen as a First-Place Winner to receive an in-person lunch with Kevin Youkilis (a group lunch open to only the actual First-Place Winners). One of those grand prize winners will also receive autographed pictures of Kevin Youkilis for each of his/her school classmates. While all possible consideration will be given to each winnerıs schedule, the actual date of the lunch will be decided based on Mr. Youkilisıs availability. In the event that Mr. Youkilis is unable to attend such lunch due to a logistical or any other reason, he will participate in individual telephone calls with the First-Place Winners. Monthly Contest winners of autographed items will still be eligible to have their respective Essays considered for the Contest First-Prize Winner category. 4. JUDGING. Winning Essays will be judged based on the following criteria: originality, creativity, eloquence of writing style, organization (how well thought out the Essay is) and relevance to the topic. The expectations regarding each criterion will be appropriately modulated and adjusted for each respective age category. The decisions of the judges will be final and binding on all participants. 5. WINNER NOTIFICATION. Contest winners will be notified by Sponsor within approximately two (2) days of determination by the telephone number or e-mail address provided by his/her Official Entry Form. Winners and their parents and/or legal guardians (as the case may be) are responsible for meeting all eligibility requirements. Winners and their parents and/or legal guardians (as the case may be) may be each required to provide proof of identity, address and/or birth date, as well as execute an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Liability/Publicity Release within five (5) days following the date of issuance of notification. Non-compliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Acceptance of any prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to use winner's name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. 6. LENGTH. The Contest and Youk's Kids Reading Group Program shall continue until terminated in the mutual and sole discretion of Kevin Youkilis and the Sponsor. 7. SPONSOR.
